Scope
Use typography to portray myself.
Process
In my poster series, Glitched Process, certain aspects and failures throughout my
life are framed and reconceived as accomplishments. With plain and simple designs,
I deliberately induced errors and distortions by utilizing a scanner. Flaws are
amplified through this experimental technique causing unexpected glitches and distortions.
Typographic appearances are altered and occasionally transposed. Various words are
warped into unidentified languages (ex: “DAWSON” becomes “OOI I COC,” “ALRIGHT” becomes
“DI DICHT,” etc.). Presented on the wall, behind each poster lies the original raw design,
untouched by the scanner. Within the series, there lies a secret message that exerts the
viewer’s effort to read or decode.
