Design and create a game-ready seamless biped character.
Process
At the time of this project, I was really into cacti and that is how
I got the inspiration to create Xena the Xerophyte, a plant-based warrior
character. The design takes into consideration the character’s role, aesthetics
(silhouette, shapes, composition, contrast), movement and personality.
The character model sheet displays a front and side view modeling
reference in an A-pose with a five-view character turnaround with
consistent size and proportion. The challenge of the project was to
create a character model with less than 20,000 tris with a uniform
topology suitable for animation and deformation. Xena was then placed
into Unity and with pre-made motion capture animation scripts, she was
able to walk, run and do other motions seamlessly.
