Background
Vanier College’s Insurance and Financial Services program created a
contest to design four of their new textbook covers. The program allows
students to learn to perform various activities related to insurance
and financial services.
Scope
I joined a team of designers and we each chose were tasked with creating
one of the four textbooks according to the chosen course.
Collaborators
Sydney Larbalestier, Olivia Mazza, Suzette Magbuhos
Process
We collaboratively came up with the design aesthetic and theme for each
book: a businessman helping little characters in different scenarios.
I chose the “Ethics and Professional Practice” course. When thinking about
ethics, the first thing that came to mind was to incorporate a moral compass.
For my concept, the little character silhouette is choosing to do what is
morally right. It is also a play on words with the staircase that is positioned
on the right side. We each created our own vectors. The textbooks were
published and sold at Vanier’s bookstore.
